Ulrike Müller repeatedly reflects on the relationship between the body and abstraction, between surface, form, and figure. In the process, the artist also explores traditions and layers of meaning inherent to artisanal techniques, for example, by executing her compositions in enamel or having them produced as textile objects. For several years, Müller has been collaborating with a weaving workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico, which translates her designs into large-scale rugs woven from locally sourced natural fibers. The work Rug (por ahora) is part of a series that combines geometric shapes with the motif of a stylized cat.
