He is especially interested in the linguistic potential of objects, which his installations highlight. He transposes verbal signifiers into the spatial dimension and moreover involves them in physical interaction. \u201cTactile poetry\u201d\u2014poetry in the medium of touch\u2014is the label the conceptual artist coins for his art. This multipart installation composed of letters and objects was first presented at Vienna\u2019s Galerie im Griechenbeisl in 1968 and drew international attention.
