Not even 100 years later, this was destroyed when the church was again altered in 1873. All that survives is this sketch for the wall painting. It conveys a clear idea of Maulbertsch\u2019s composition: Saint Augustine is wearing bishop\u2019s robes with his attribute, a flaming heart, floating before him. Multiple angels accompany him as he ascends to the Holy Trinity in heaven. Whereas Maulbertsch rendered the drapery precisely, the faces are only cursorily indicated in this sketch."},"title2":{"label":"Alternative Title","value":"Entwurf für das verlorene Hochaltarfresko der Augustinerkirche in Wien"},"medium":{"label":"Medium","value":"Oil on canvas"},"onview":{"label":"On View","value":"1"},"media":{"label":"Media","value":["https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/4088/full"]},"title":{"label":"Title","value":"The Acceptance of St. Augustine in Heaven"},"classification":{"label":"Genre","value":"Painting"},"primaryMedia":{"label":"PrimaryMedia","value":"https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/4088/full"},"displayDate":{"label":"Date","value":"c. 1785/1786"},"id":{"label":"Id","value":"10593691"},"iiifManifest":{"value":"https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/apis/iiif/presentation/v2/1-objects-8360/manifest"},"dimensions":{"label":"Dimensions","value":"91 × 50,5 cm"}}]}
