She is naked, other than a blue necklace and a silk scarf. But Helene Funke\u2019s nude does not exude eroticism. Instead, the artist captures a moment of self-reflection. Against her parents\u2019 wishes, Funke had studied art at the Women\u2019s Academy in Munich and then lived in Paris for several years before moving to Vienna. She was one of the first artists to introduce to Austria the wild, contrasting style of the French Fauves. Funke\u2019s many depictions of women explore female worlds with subtlety and nuance."},"medium":{"label":"Medium","value":"Oil on canvas"},"onview":{"label":"On View","value":"1"},"media":{"label":"Media","value":["https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/117819/full"]},"title":{"label":"Title","value":"Nude Looking in the Mirror"},"classification":{"label":"Genre","value":"Painting"},"primaryMedia":{"label":"PrimaryMedia","value":"/internal/media/dispatcher/117819/full"},"displayDate":{"label":"Date","value":"1908/1910"},"id":{"label":"Id","value":"10220686"},"iiifManifest":{"value":"https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/apis/iiif/presentation/v2/1-objects-83909/manifest"},"dimensions":{"label":"Dimensions","value":"46,5 × 38,5 cm"}}]}
