After completing his studies at the academy in Vienna in 1828, Anton Einsle first settled in Prague and then, from 1832 onward, in Budapest, where he gained recognition as a portrait painter. When Einsle was appointed Imperial and Royal Court Painter in 1838, he returned to Vienna and produced numerous portraits of the imperial family and court. This painting, created in Prague, depicts a mother and child smiling warmly. The two hold a devotional image of St. Ignatius, which may refer to the patron saint of either the child or the father. The elaborate headdress made of lace and shiny ribbons, as well as the pearl-studded golden belt buckle and the shimmering fabric of the woman’s fashionable dress, indicates the family’s wealth and social status.</value></field><field label="Genre" name="classification"><value>Painting</value></field><field label="Id" name="id"><value>12372569</value></field><field label="Source ID" name="sourceId"><value>85371</value></field><field label="Location" name="locationssite"><value>Belvedere 21</value></field><field name="media" mediaRecordID="164868" label="Media"><type>image/jpeg</type><license>CC-BY-SA 4.0</license><licenseURL>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/</licenseURL><mediaCopyright>Foto: Johannes Stoll / Belvedere, Wien</mediaCopyright><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/164868/full</value></field><field name="media" mediaRecordID="163972" label="Media"><type>image/jpeg</type><license>CC-BY-SA 4.0</license><licenseURL>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/</licenseURL><mediaCopyright>Foto: Johannes Stoll / Belvedere, Wien</mediaCopyright><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/163972/full</value></field><field name="iiifManifest"><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/apis/iiif/presentation/v2/1-objects-85371/manifest</value></field></object>
