It can also be interpreted as a new artistic beginning, expressed in a deliberate reconnection with prewar tendencies that had previously been branded as \u201cdegenerate.\u201d For Fuchs, the central venues for engaging with Surrealism in Vienna were Albert Paris Gütersloh\u2019s master class at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Club, from which the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism emerged.
