  • Linda Bilda was exceptionally versatile in her cultural productions. Her role in Vienna as an artist, publisher, entrepreneur, curator, performer, cartoonist, activist, and educator was significant. She also developed a new glass technique, known as LightGlass, for fabricating her sculptures and objects. Influenced by the Situationist International movement, whose practice aimed to radically intertwine art and everyday life, Bilda’s work examines social structures that shape our reality and perception. In doing so, she challenges traditional role models and proposes perspectives for new forms of coexistence. The small-scale plexiglass sculpture Dragon Slayer can be read as a figure of resistance and feminist selfempowerment. Through the deliberate use of light and shadow, it is duplicated, reflecting its dual status as a figure of identification and surface for projection.
