With works that seem intentionally unfinished, retaining rough surfaces and visible tool marks, French sculptor Auguste Rodin revolutionized traditional sculpture. Rather than glorifying the figure or portraying it as a symbol of power, Rodin focuses on gesture, facial expression, and the immediacy of feeling\u2014on expression in its purest sense.
