Safeguard I (Lion) thus marks the transition between inside and outside. Mimicking the form of a historical door, the object is stretched with bleached velvet and fitted with a bronze door knocker in the shape of a lion’s head. As the title suggests, the need it symbolizes remains ambivalent.
