In both their individual works and collaborative projects, Luisa Kasalicky and Siegfried Zaworka explore the conditions and possibilities of the medium of painting. In their jointly developed series Distant Memory, the painted picture frames are by Zaworka, while the motifs are by Kasalicky. What seems like a cast shadow connects the two elements into a single work. For the intensely luminous pictorial elements, Kasalicky drew inspiration from stained glass windows in churches, whose colors are determined by the light entering from outside. Interspersed among them, circular black fields break up the pictorial space. Situated at the intersection of painting, object, and installation, the work explores the potential of painted illusion.</value></field><field label="Genre" name="classification"><value>Painting</value></field><field label="Id" name="id"><value>12375198</value></field><field label="Source ID" name="sourceId"><value>106832</value></field><field label="Location" name="locationssite"><value>Belvedere 21</value></field><field name="media" mediaRecordID="164510" label="Media"><type>image/jpeg</type><license identifier="BV-C"/><mediaCopyright>Foto: Johannes Stoll / Belvedere, Wien</mediaCopyright><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/164510/full</value></field><field label="Motive" name="thesconceptsMotive"><value iconClassURL="https://iconclass.org/41A6712">arranging flowers</value><value iconClassURL="https://iconclass.org/52A3">memory; 'Memoria' (Ripa)</value></field><field name="iiifManifest"><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/apis/iiif/presentation/v2/1-objects-106832/manifest</value></field></object>
