About a decade after Empress Elisabeth’s death in 1898, the young sculptor Ilse Beatrice Twardowski-Conrat created a bust of the monarch. Yet the pared-down sculpture in white marble reveals little about the sitter’s identity. Elisabeth’s legendary cascade of hair is concealed beneath a shawl pulled tightly across her cheeks and around her neck. Her head tilts downward, her expression serious and introspective. Twardowski-Conrat was one of the few women artists of her generation to achieve success in sculpture. Her works, including numerous busts and monuments, were exhibited at venues such as the Vienna Secession.</value></field><field label="Genre" name="classification"><value>Sculpture</value></field><field label="Id" name="id"><value>11173870</value></field><field label="Source ID" name="sourceId"><value>634</value></field><field name="media" mediaRecordID="76748" label="Media"><type>image/jpeg</type><license>CC-BY-SA 4.0</license><licenseURL>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/</licenseURL><mediaCopyright>Foto: Johannes Stoll / Belvedere, Wien</mediaCopyright><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/76748/full</value></field><field name="media" mediaRecordID="76749" label="Media"><type>image/jpeg</type><license>CC-BY-SA 4.0</license><licenseURL>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/</licenseURL><mediaCopyright>Foto: Johannes Stoll / Belvedere, Wien</mediaCopyright><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/76749/full</value></field><field name="media" mediaRecordID="118446" label="Media"><type>image/jpeg</type><license>CC-BY-SA 4.0</license><licenseURL>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/</licenseURL><mediaCopyright>Foto: Johannes Stoll / Belvedere, Wien</mediaCopyright><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/118446/full</value></field><field name="media" mediaRecordID="165893" label="Media"><type>model/gltf-binary</type><license>In Copyright</license><mediaCopyright>Fotogrammetrie: Belvedere, Wien </mediaCopyright><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/internal/media/dispatcher/165893/full</value></field><field name="iiifManifest"><value>https://sammlungtest.belvedere.at/apis/iiif/presentation/v2/1-objects-634/manifest</value></field></object>
