  • "The Church of the Most Holy Trinity" in Vienna is based on the artistic concept of the Austrian sculptor Fritz Wotruba. In 1965, he was commissioned to plan a Carmelite convent with an associated church, for which he produced this model in 1967. Although the convent project was never realized, the model later served as a schematic design for the church (1974 – 1976) on the Georgenberg in Vienna-Mauer, developed jointly by Wotruba and the architect Fritz Gerhard Mayr. Composed of 135 concrete blocks, the striking sacred building, which was widely debated at the time of its construction, draws on the formal vocabulary of Wotruba’s sculptural work, characterized by a dialogue between sculpture and architecture.
